Chris enjoys teaching beginners as well as the most advanced students and is well versed in Classical percussion, Cuban rhythm and percussion, Drum Corps, Jazz, African pop styles, Rock, Funk, Reggae, song form and extended phrasing concepts, Blues, Calypso, New Orleans Second-line, Country, Fusion, the use of space and delay to create intensity, Odd Time Signatures, Brazilian, Linear Concepts, Big Band chart reading, The Nashville Numbers system, playing with a "Click Track", Middle Eastern rhythm and percussion, Gospel, the importance of mastering fundamentals, Hip-hop. Playing with brushes, Advanced music theory and harmony. Drumming while singing. Chris has been playing drums for more than 33 years and is an alumni of the Drummers Collective in New York City. Chris gives lessons to locals and visitors to the San Francisco bay area.
